On Sunday of our vacation to Friday Harbor, we found a window of sunshine and made our way to the southeast tip of the island. We hiked out to the lighthouse and enjoyed the shore. After grabbing some pictures and enjoying the morning, we made our way back to the hotel and relaxed through the afternoon. Very pretty and sleepy here on San Jaun in the offseason.
I enjoyed mornings out walking around the boats and taking pictures in the harbor. Kim enjoyed the relaxation and reading books. Great vacation.
At the beginning of November, Kim and I took at trip to Friday Harbor (on San Juan Island). It was our first trip on our own since before Olin was born. All made possible by Gran and Pappa D who watched the boys over the weekend. Thank you so much for coming up and taking care of them. It was really helpful.
It rained or was cloudy much of the trip except for a nice break on Sunday. This first set of pictures shows the view of the ferry from our hotel room, plus our day trip to Lime Kiln State Park which was amazing. The lighthouse was nice and the view of the straight was a great place for lunch. We watched the sail boats pass silently by on their way to Roche Harbor.
After taking in the views, lunch and a little hike, we also made our way to Roche Harbor via small rental car (not sailing yacht). Kim took in a message and I relaxed and read a book.
We finished off a nice day with dinner at a great (but hard to find) little restaurant in sleepy Friday Harbor. More pics to come in the next post.
